 Position details include a large, renovated hospital with DaySmart (Vetter) software, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, high speed dental unit, full in house IDEXX lab, oxygen cage, isolation ward, small and large animal ultrasound, company vehicle for large animal work, equine dental equipment, and much more. Lots of mentoring and support from the current doctors is guaranteed and we have an awesome support staff that are able to help any time.&#xa0; You would have a 4 to 4 1/2 days work week with one weekday off.&#xa0; We are open Saturdays from 8 am to 1pm, so you may have to work some Saturdays.&#xa0; There is NO small animal on-call and we use an answering service to triage all after hours calls.&#xa0; We do see large animal emergencies but large animal on call would be shared only with the other large animal veterinarian(s).&#xa0; Small animal veterinarians are NOT expected to do large animal on call!!&#xa0; There is a 24-hour small animal emergency clinic less than an hour away in the Syracuse area, with several other options for referral within a 3 hour radius of Watertown. Opportunities are available to develop your interests &#8211; ultrasound, physical therapy, acupuncture, equine, etc. 
 Watertown, NY is close to the St. Lawrence river, Lake Ontario, the Adirondacks, and we are only 30 minutes from the Canadian border. It is a great area for outdoor sports enthusiasts as year-round recreation abounds. Hunting, fishing, snow sports, water sports, hiking, camping, and the list goes on. Watertown is a small city with a stable economy due to the nearby Army base at Fort Drum. We are also an easy drive to the big cities of Syracuse, Albany, and Rochester. 
 New graduates are encouraged to apply. Full time salary will be dependent on experience but no less than $100,000 base.&#xa0; This also does not include all the excellent benefits. ProSal can also be considered. Salary is renegotiated after 6 months, then annually. All levels of ambulatory practice are seen here, from upper level dressage/hunter/jumpers, to backyard pets, Amish draft/buggy, and miniature donkeys. Lameness workups, PPEs, gastroscopy, endoscopy, etc on regular basis. Our wellness program is popular. Digital radiography, ultrasound, in house lab, Prostride/PRP etc. We have an indoor arena and large exam room for ship-ins. Weekly vet/office meeting for case/client/business discussions: camaraderie is anticipated. Suggestions/ideas are well received. 
 Emergency hours are divided between veterinarians, and a significant portion of emergency dollars come back to you. Salary commensurate with experience. Base $70K as starter. Medical insurance with HSA, 401K, and incentives over base salary. Phone, vehicle and gas provided. Most often an assistant will be available. Surgical referral hospital is nearby, or we refer to The Ohio State University. Good working relationship with both. We work hard, but try to get home at a reasonable hour, and communicate well between the doctors/office during the day. Our office staff looks out for us with good scheduling and assists with client communication. This is a great place to work with a high density of horses in the countryside east of Cleveland, which is easily reached for the Guardians, Cavs, Browns, concert venues, restaurants, and world class theater. Lake Erie is a short drive north. Good personality, sense of humor, ability to communicate with clients and co workers. Ability to handle horses. Driver&#39;s license. Experience with lameness, joint injections, medicine and emergencies preferred, but would develop and encourage a new graduate. Willing to work emergency some nights, weekends and holidays. Salary based on experience. Also significant portion of emergency calls, production incentives, bonus. 401K, medical insurance. Stipend for Continuing ed.</description>
