The Equine Clinic at Oakencroft is a 7 fulltime veterinarian and 1 intern veterinarian practice that treats all patients from homecare geriatrics to high level performance horses of various disciplines.  We are primarily ambulatory with a small hospital facility.

Externship positions are available throughout the year to veterinary students looking to gain experience in equine practice.  We greatly enjoy assisting in the education of our future colleagues.  Externs spend their time working with our staff veterinarians learning the daily life of a vet and assisting with after hours emergency work and hospital case management.

The goals of our externship are to provide students with an overall impression of ambulatory equine practice.  Our veterinary staff have a wide range of interests and expertise and we try to pair the externs with as many of our veterinarians as possible.  Externs work closely with our intern veterinarians on hospital case management.  Our externship allows students to gain quality hands on experience in a great teaching environment.  Have fun!!

We are located in the beautiful capital region of New York.  Our practice provides high quality veterinary care to a wide range of patients.  We accept all and hope you have a great experience!!

Must be enrolled in a qualified veterinary program either in North America or internationally.  Students should complete a minimum on 1 week at the clinic. 

Students must supply an application found on our website, CV, photo, proof of student insurance coverage provided by the veterinary college.  Internship positions are available after completing an externship.

Housing with full amenities is provided onsite for up to 2 students
