At Sierra Veterinary Hospital, you will be welcomed with open arms on your very first day. We will ensure you feel confident excelling alongside us with a personalized orientation and mentors to help you succeed and learn more about what makes Sierra Veterinary Hospital unique. This is a place where your medical training will be valued, where personal and professional growth is encouraged, and where collegial collaboration on cases is the norm. We seek to outdo ourselves, never limited by how things were done in the past. If you share that goal and are intent on making it a reality, we invite you to join us.
Leadership at Sierra Veterinary Hospital is committed to investing in our facilities to offer the gold standard in animal health. Our radiology suite includes a CT scanner that accommodates giant breed dogs, state of the art Samsung ultrasound, and a Sound DR x-ray. Our surgical suite offers Ligasure vessel sealing, which is used on all spay procedures, advanced orthopedic procedures such as TPLOs with Stryker saws and drills, and a full Stryker tower for laparoscopic and arthroscopic minimally invasive procedures. Our dentistry suite includes 15-second full-mouth CT scans for 3D root evaluation, IM3 Vet-Tome, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring for all anesthesia. We perform minimally invasive cryosurgery on pets, allowing dermal mass removals using local anesthetic. Our rehabilitation options include high and low-powered cold laser as well as an underwater treadmill. We have in-house cremation services via eco-friendly Aquamation, and a team dedicated to aftercare with personalized laser-engraved pet memorial keepsakes.

Sierra Veterinary Hospital continues to innovate. Established as an independent primary care hospital in 1971 by Dr. Woodrow Allen, Sierra Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in the front half of a feed store on the east side of Nevada’s state capital: Carson City. Fifteen minutes from Lake Tahoe, the team of doctors leading this hospital began their pursuit of excellence, spurred on by a desire for innovation and treating clients and patients like the friends and family they are. We strive to uphold this legacy today and into the future.
