The goal of the externship at BW Furlong & Associates is to provide students with a full understanding of the internship offered and to further explore a career in performance horse medicine, referral practice, and general practice.  Externs are included in the daily routine of all veterinarians so that they gain exposure to all facets of the practice. Externs are expected to be available evenings and weekends during their stay to gain experience with management of emergency and hospitalized patients.
