The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time academic position in Zoonotic Viral Diseases. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track). The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024, or an earlier mutually agreed upon date.

The University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) was established in 2005 to meet Alberta’s need for highly-skilled veterinary graduates to support rural Alberta, production animal and equine industries, animal and human health research, and public health. In a short period of time, UCVM has carved a reputation for itself as place for innovative veterinary education and cutting-edge basic and applied research, now ranking in the top 50 veterinary programs worldwide.
UCVM’s DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education to approximately 50 students per year, with an expected expansion to 100 students. The program is an integrated core-elective program, with enhanced educational opportunities in defined areas that combine discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off-campus experientia...l learning. UCVM is a research-intensive faculty with expanding research, graduate education, and advanced clinical trainee programs.
