This roleis a licensed position that functions in the care of animals as defined in Wisconsin State Statue Chapter VE 3. This role is held accountable to the standards set-forth in Wisconsin State Statute Chapter VE 7, which provides the standards of practice and unprofessional conduct for veterinary technicians. This role is required to maintain compliance with Wisconsin State Statute Chapter VE 10, which provides the guidelines for continuing veterinary education for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
The Dentistry Veterinarian is responsible for the provision of dental care for canine and feline patients. Scheduling of services will be based on the availability of the veterinarian with no limit to the volume of services and therefore, production compensation. The Dentistry Veterinarian is responsible to:
Establish informed consent with owning caregivers prior and following dental care
Perform prophylactic dental procedures including cleaning, extractions.
Maintain electronic medical and surgical records of patient care
Coordinate written medical treatment protocols
Effectively communicate the condition and patient status with staff and organization leaders
Be a resource for staff training
Administration of injectable medications, performing first aide, and other paramedical duties
Follow up to ensure quality of service, as needed
Provide timely and professional email correspondences
Be a resource for inventory control, to aid in loss prevention
PAW Health Network is a 24-Hour Animal Care Center that provides an array of veterinary services. These services include the following: walk-ins, routine care, emergency care, urgent care, and canine massage therapy.
