About Our Facility
Evergreen Veterinary Care is a modern, fear free clinic located in the beautiful residential neighborhood of Evergreen. We are far enough from downtown Baltimore that we enjoy a nature trail within walking distance, nearby parks, and are surrounded by large, beautiful family homes in a great school district (Roland Park school district). We are close enough to down town though, that its just a short Uber drive (or bike ride) to Canton, Fells Point, Inner Harbor, theaters, night life, museums, and the list goes on. Our location makes us perfect for any lifestyle; for the young vet with a thriving social life, to a vet with a growing family or those looking for a slower pace, in a quieter place.
We value work/ life balance and can offer an attractive, flexible schedule of three 10 hour shifts per week with two 7 hour Sunday shifts per month with the option to work additional shifts only IF desired (for additional compensation of course). We are closed on Saturdays and there are no overnight or on-call shifts!
We are very lucky to have a clientele that is willing and has the resources to pursue diagnostics and treatments that we recommend.
Our clinic is conveniently located near a number of referral specialists and emergency hospitals for our clients to utilize.
Our facility has four spacious exam rooms, one of which is a feline- only room. The facility accommodates three full time veterinarians; however we never have more than two veterinarians seeing appointments at one time, which allows for good room flow.
Our surgery suite is fully equipped to handle routine surgeries as well as more advanced ones like splenectomies, gastrotomies, cystotomies, etc (we often transfer our advanced surgeries to overnight facilities for continued care after hours).
We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care. We have anesthesia machines that use sevoflurane, employ full monitoring on every anesthetized patient- including capnography, use Nocita in all surgeries where its applicable, use cold laser therapy in post op for surgeries and dental extraction sites, take full mouth rads for all of our dentals, just to name a few examples.
The absolute best thing about our practice is our staff! Not only are they absolutely wonderful and skilled and reliable, but we are also well staffed; maintaining four full time support staff PER veterinarian. Our team is truly like a family- an open armed, no drama kind of family. Our culture is warm, professional, but fun. Its this environment that has kept turnover to a minimum and makes Evergreen such an awesome place to work.
Job Responsibilities
- Builds rapport with clients by gathering information, listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
- Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures
- Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
- Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Practice in a manner consistent with the Fear Free philosophy and guidelines (Employee will be expected to complete the Fear Free online certification if they are not already certified. This will be paid for by Evergreen of course!)
Skills and Basic Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Maryland
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills in a way that conveys compassion and empathy.
- Works collaboratively with hospital team members, treating them with compassion and respect.
- Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
- Manages time and tasks appropriately.
