Personable small animal veterinarians wanted for a well-established, currently 5-doctor, mixed animal practice in northern New York.

**>You are probably like, "Whoa, not this ad again.  What is going on?"  Well, in the past 5 years, we have lost two of our veterinarians to retirement and will be losing another in September.  Also, it may be hard to believe, but Northern NY doesn't have the drawing power that you would expect.  But, once people move up here, they want to stay!  And, we have plenty of work.  There are also several other practices in the area looking for veterinarians, so you would have a ton of options, if you check us out.  Now, the Watertown Animal Hospital has more bells, whistles, and toys than several of the neighboring practices and we are far more flexible with our scheduling, which makes us the obvious choice!  But, back to the ad...<**

We are looking for enthusiastic small animal veterinarians to join our team. We practice high quality medicine in a home-town atmosphere.  We have plenty of support staff with 6 customer service representatives, 6 licensed technicians, 4 animal caretakers, two technician assistants, a hospital assistant, a practice manager, and a book keeper.  We have cultivated a great team and provide the best work/life balance possible in this beautiful area. 

Position details include a large, renovated hospital with Impromed Infinity software, digital radiographs, digital dental radiographs, high speed dental unit, full in house IDEXX lab, oxygen cage, isolation ward, and more. Lots of mentoring and support from the current doctors is a given and we have an awesome support staff that are able to help any time.  There is no on-call and we use Guardian Vets service to triage all after hours calls.  There is a 24-hour emergency clinic less than an hour away in the Syracuse area, with several other options for referral within a 3 hour radius of Watertown. Opportunities are available to develop your interests – ultrasound, physical therapy, etc.

Watertown, NY is close to the St. Lawrence river, Lake Ontario, the Adirondacks, and we are only 30 minutes from the Canadian border. It is a great area for outdoor sports enthusiasts as year-round recreation abounds. Hunting, fishing, snow sports, water sports, hiking, camping, and the list goes on. Watertown is a small city with a stable economy due to the nearby Army base at Fort Drum. We are also an easy drive to the big cities of Syracuse, Albany and Rochester.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Salary will be dependent on experience but no less than $100,000 base PLUS 23% ProSal quarterly.  This also does not include all the excellent benefits.  Straight salary will also be considered and salary is renegotiated after 6 months, then annually.
