We employ a large support staff comprised of nice, fun, and hardworking animal care professionals that enable our veterinarians to put their time and energy into what they do best. Our staff makes even the toughest days easier. Not only does our hospital flourish under this collaborative and supportive environment, but our commitment to a high standard of care seamlessly leads to providing our patients with the best care possible. All this teamwork means that our clients get fantastic service which keeps them happy and aids in their compliance, talk about a win-win!
If you’re a new graduate, we know that your first years will shape the kind of veterinarian you become. For early-career veterinarians, this means we place an emphasis on mentorship and value being a partner in your growth and development. We employ veterinarians of all levels and varying backgrounds, who are enthusiastic about answering questions, providing guidance, and enabling you to become the veterinarian you want to become.
If you’re an experienced veterinarian, you know the influence the kind of practice you work for has in your life. We place an emphasis on helping you succeed and supporting your career goals.

We are close to outstanding shopping, restaurants, vineyards, breweries, historic towns, and the great outdoors. Colonial Beach is a short 20-minute drive and offers the second largest beachfront in the state! If sand isn’t your thing, don’t worry. The Northern Neck is also home to dozens of parks that offer everything from leisure and sports to hiking and camping. If you happen to be an equestrian enthusiast, there is also a robust community of boarding, riding, and training facilities.
Medical Resources and Equipment:
In March 2022 we moved into our brand new 8,500 sq. ft. modern animal hospital. It features separate canine and feline sides, as well as curbside and drop-off services. Eagle’s Nest offers: Internal Medicine, General Surgery, some Orthopedic Surgery, Dentistry, Theriogenology, Oncology, and Acupuncture. The average daily practice caseload is about 70 (18+/DVM/day; predominantly canine and feline).

We are a different kind of animal hospital. We have really nice employees who have a lot of fun at work while at the same time providing excellent customer service and high quality medicine. We've carefully built a culture of team work and positive attitudes. We have a new suite of Heska lab equipment, a recently upgraded fully digital X-ray machine, Doppler ultrasound, electronic records etc. Currently we have more than 7 staff per doctor, which makes everyone more efficient. We recently completed the building of our new 8,500 sq. ft. animal hospital with 10 exam rooms, two surgeries, and essentially a hospital within a hospital for cats. The cats only have to leave the cat area for surgery and X-ray. We only do small animal. There is a local emergency animal hospital which handles nights, weekends and holidays. We do work with animal control and our breeders to do the odd emergency/ c-section but it is only a handful of times a year. Our doctors bring their personal dogs to work almost every, and they are mostly free range around the hospital.
