Animal Protection League, a non-profit organization located deep in the heart of East Texas, is seeking relief veterinarians for our Mt. Pleasant, Mt Vernon and Texarkana locations! We are a HQHVSN Program. We are passionate when it comes to our mission and we are proud to offer high quality, affordable services to the surrounding East Texas communities now and for the past 25 years. Since we first began our efforts, we have spayed/neutered over 200,000 pets and that number grows larger every year. We have expanded our program and need relief veterinarians to help fill in some of the gaps at our North Eastern locations!

If you answered yes, APL is the place for you! Animal Protection League only offers spay/neuter and wellness for cats and dogs (vaccinations, heartworm/FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, deworming, microchipping, nail trims, anal gland expressions). Our ideal candidate must be comfortable with pregnant, cryptorchid, and pediatric surgeries or willing to learn. A typical surgical caseload is approximately 20-40 pets per day. We set strict parameters for our clients regarding their pets; we do not schedule pets that are over the age of 6 years old, over 80 pounds, have a history of neurologic disease, etc. Our days are about 4-5 hours long. A typical day starts around 9:30-10:00 am and ends around 2:00-2:30 pm as long as all surgeries are done.
We strive to maintain great relationships with our local veterinarians and all sick/injured pets are referred to private practice. We use EVET software, Miltex surgical instruments, and name brand suture.
Animal Protection League provides their service to 30 communities across East Texas. Our program is in high demand and we are constantly growing.
