All Dogs and Cats Veterinary Hospital, located in Glenwood Springs and New Castle, Colorado, is looking for a full-time Veterinarian to join our amazing team! New grads are encouraged to apply and will receive structured mentorship for 12 months. Come work in a town that has made Outside Magazine's top 10 places live in the US!
About our clinics: All Dogs and Cats Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital with locations in Glenwood Springs and New Castle, Colorado. We have been serving the Garfield County community for over 30 years. Our clients are compliant with preventive care and are willing to pursue diagnostics. We have been voted the “Best Veterinarian” by Local’s Choice every year for the past 12 years, including 2022! We strive to practice high quality, progressive medicine with compassion leading the way. Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house IDEXX laboratory, SediVue, PT/PTT, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and digital cytology machine, with a 2-hour read out time with results from a clinical pathologist. We also utilize the services of Dr. Kim Radway for our diagnostic ultrasounds and echocardiograms. All our exam rooms contain computers, making it easy to review radiographs with clients. We are paperless and use IDEXX Neo Cloud Software for our electronic medical records.
Our doctors perform a variety of soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. Surgeries are performed predominantly at our Glenwood Springs location. The surgery suite at that location contains two surgical tables, two overhead surgical lights, suction, circulating water blanket, Bear Hugger, radio cautery, and two anesthesia machines, fluid pumps, and a small, heated cage for our surgical patients to safely recover. Our technicians record patient vitals on ipads, which automatically upload into the patient’s medical record. We also utilize the services of two surgeons for orthopedic and advanced soft tissue procedures. All our patients undergoing anesthesia have pre-op lab work and an ECG sent to CardioPet.
Most importantly, we have the absolute best certified veterinary technicians! Our technicians are well versed in client education, patient care, anesthetic monitoring and recovery, specimen collection, and running labs. Every doctor is well-supported with 1.5 to 2 technicians. To round out the group, our practice manager, Diana, keeps us all on track and our practice running smoothly.
Our medical director, Dr. Lori Pohm, is incredibly proud of the team culture within the practice. “We are a small practice that encourages collaboration on cases, personal and professional growth. We have been in the Roaring Fork Valley for 30 years and have served multiple generations of family pets. We provide our clients with personal and comprehensive care. Staying current in treatments and diagnosis is especially important to us. We encourage laughter and good times in the workplace. We are accepting of everyone no matter what gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or religion. We do not judge. We believe strongly in work life balance and encourage activities outside of work. We do not turn away a lifelong client that calls at 4 pm. We will try to work them in and if they need overnight care, we will then transfer the patient to the emergency clinic.”
Our Glenwood Springs location is open Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm, with a two-hour break mid-day, where there is usually enough time to go for a run or bike ride along the river trail. Our New Castle location is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Ideally, we would like someone to work 3 days at Glenwood Springs and 1 day at New Castle and every 3rd or 4th Saturday, but we are open to candidates only wanting to work at one location. There are no on-call responsibilities. You can learn more about our amazing practice at alldogcatvet.net.
