Botetourt Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, small animal practice that has been serving our surrounding area for over 60 years.  Our doctors (over 70 years of combined experience) and dedicated support staff are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients with second to none customer service to our loyal clientele.

Responsibilities

The Managing DVM is responsible for providing medical leadership for the hospital, managing associate veterinarians and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine.  The Managing DVM is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. 

In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing DVM is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations. In addition, the Hospital Manager and Managing DVM are responsible for cultivating a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Team Building – Teamed together with your Hospital Manager and with the support of NVA, it is your shared responsibility to help build the team of doctors at Botetourt Veterinary Hospital. NVA also trusts that you know how you want to build your practice and the way it should be run.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia
