Associate veterinarian wanted for part time or full-time employment at a small animal veterinary hospital located in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, TN (a suburb of Nashville).
Animal Ark Animal Hospital is an independently owned hospital that has been serving the small animal veterinary needs since 2002. The owner, Dr. Paula Schuerer, is board certified in Canine and Feline Practice per the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and is willing to serve as a mentor for those who may want to pursue specialization within the ABVP. She enjoys teaching and mentoring as well as learning from others. The hospital offers in house diagnostics, digital radiography (body/dental) and ultrasonography with radiologist interpretation, advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment, dental/oral surgery, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery (utilizing boarded surgeons when required), experienced veterinary technicians and assistants as well as a welcoming support staff.
The veterinarians of Animal Ark work well with the local specialists as well as national specialists to provide the ultimate care for the pets we treat. We refer after hours emergency cases to the local ER.
Animal Ark encourages an associate veterinarian to promote the best outcome for a pet’s care through independent/individual case management. Unlike corporately owned hospitals which focus on high volume, Animal Ark’s approach is to focus on the ultimate client/patient experience with the best outcome for both.
The responsibilities and expectations of an associate include:
- TN license and APHIS accreditation
- Great interpersonal skills
- Great communication
- Someone who is comfortable offering individually formulated case management
- One who offers a compassionate approach to both the patient and the client

This will be through in-house continuing education, supervised procedure assistance/instruction for those veterinarians who might not have experience in such procedures, feedback, and encouragement of individual patient plan development. Associate veterinarians will be provided ample opportunity to attend local, regional, and national continuing education. Animal Ark’s goal is to grow an associate veterinarian’s confidence and competence with the goal of a long-term employment relationship.
Our standard benefits include:
- Great compensation that is in line with your experience

If you are already an established veterinarian, we will encourage you to take your skill set to the next level as well as grow your clientele within our family of clients. As an independently owned hospital, there is not the stress of corporate production demands, deadlines, and expectations. Animal Ark values personal freedom and time off to enjoy the beautiful middle Tennessee area.
