Come be part of an equine practice that will remind you daily why you chose to be a veterinarian.
Bayhill Equine was founded 31 years ago when our founding partner was denied the opportunity to become an owner in the practice where he was working as an associate so he decided to venture out on his own. Dr. Browning believed that the best possible equine practice would require professional expertise, a continuing commitment to stay at the forefront of treatment advances, and a human-centered management approach built on mutual respect and kindness for all employees. This simple premise has proven to be a winning formula for over three decades. Today, Bayhill's stellar reputation is based on quality of care for our equine patients, but our practice "super powers" are the people who bring their best to work every single day. We've learned through much experience that all veterinary practices are not created equally. People who have joined our team from other practices are often surprised by the opportunity to be part of a positive culture that emphasizes communication, wellness, and growth. What sets our practice apart is an environment of support, flexibility, and an active commitment to each other.
We are currently seeking a full-time associate to join our equine ambulatory practice. The ideal candidate will share our management philosophy and be similarly dedicated to providing the highest level of sports medicine care to elite equine athletes. Our clientele consists primarily of hunter/jumpers, in addition to dressage, eventing, and some pleasures horses. Learn and discuss cases with highly regarded practitioners in the field including two time Team Veterinarian for the World Equestrian Games, USA team veterinarian for the World Championships in France and Hungary, and service at one of the preeminent equine practices in the country.
Our culture is defined by mentorship, collaboration, positive attitudes, and continued learning. We value a balanced life/work environment. We have a 4 or 5 day work week and share nights on call. We take care of ourselves and each other.
We’re looking for someone who comes to us with integrity, skills, curiosity, and a sincere desire to contribute to our team with new ideas. We highly prize great communication skills, initiative, and a sense of humor. We are equally passionate about developing new areas of expertise, staying on the cutting edge of standards of care, and continuing education.
We operate as a highly integrated team relying on the expertise and support of our veterinarians, technicians, support staff and clients. Our relationships with many of our clients span several decades and our continuing relationships with Bayhill "alumni" are a great source of pride. Our client roster grows annually and currently includes premier training barns, a renowned university, and an equine assisted rehabilitation facility. We have a great, educated clientele which allows us to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients.
Our practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, shock wave, class 4 regenerative laser, and two 3 meter video endoscopes. Services provided include stem cell therapy, Alpha 2 EQ, IRAP, PRP, ProStride, acupuncture, and much more. Additionally, a fully-equipped vehicle is provided. Each veterinarian has a vet tech to assist and maximize productivity.
While experience is preferred, new graduates are welcome to apply. As we stated up front, we want to find like minded veterinarians who want to do their best work and enjoy themselves while they are doing it. Applicants must have a DVM or VMD with an ability to obtain a California license. Salary is commensurate with experience and production. It will also reflect an understanding for the cost of living in the Bay Area. Benefits include medical, dental, IRA, AAEP and AVMA membership dues, flexible work schedules, and a continuing education allowance. We also will consider both a signing bonus and a relocation allowance.
