Greenock Farm Veterinary Hospital, an Equine Surgical/Medical Hospital in the greater Charlotte, NC area is wishing to hire an associate with at least one year experience. We are looking to add an additional ambulatory veterinarian to help our existing staff serve our established clientele of over 30 years. Qualified equine assistants ride with each veterinarian to aid them in all aspects of equine care. A four day work week is the norm for full time veterinarians. Mentoring is a vital aspect of our hospital. We also emphasize a life outside of veterinary medicine.
We provide all surgical and medical care for our patients, but refer when the need arises.
Sport Horse medicine is part of our daily work. We provide heard health and sick animal care. After hour emergency coverage has always been an issue in large animal medicine. In an attempt to make life more tolerable, we have recently formed an emergency Co-Op utilizing two additional practices outside of our own. Emergency coverage is alternated between practices.
While our practice is mixed, this position is for a large animal associate only. The facility has a top notch large animal surgical suite with separate rooms for both surgical prep and recovery. We utilize an overhead monorail system to move anesthetized horses. This also allows us to sling horses when the need arises. Barn stalls open into a breezeway lined with rubber bricks. Our treatment room has a set of stocks allowing safety while performing standing procedures. We provide top dental care for our patients whether it be surgical repulsion of molars or day to day dentals with Swiss Float equipment. Our imaging is performed with Sound Digital Radiographic equipment. Our latest purchase is a GE digital ultrasound (multiple probes). For endoscopic evaluation we have a new three meter video scope and an upper respiratory tract scope.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package including group health/dental insurance and a retirement plan.
Our Hospital resides in Midland, NC which is 20-30 minutes SE of Charlotte. The cost of living is less than many areas. Charlotte offers a wide range of entertainment, from music, professional sports, world class restaurants and outdoor recreational opportunities. We are a couple of hours from the Smoky Mountains and three hours from the coast. The Whitewater Center is a remarkable recreational center for those who enjoy kayaking, mountain biking and rock climbing.
