Halifax Veterinary Center is a stand-alone AAHA-accredited practice located minutes from the interstate and the beach, in Port Orange, Florida, making commuting a breeze. We pride ourselves in our family-like environment, which is evident as some employees have been part of the family for 20+ years. The doctors have a fantastic work-life balance and are always happy to bounce ideas off each other, which is great for new graduates and seasoned doctors alike. We have a wide range of services, from surgical and medical to rehabilitation and manual therapy and we are equipped with digital radiography, butterfly ultrasound, cold laser, and in-house blood machines. We are also open minded to eastern medicine, as our doctors are trained in acupuncture through the Chi Institute. Interested in Exotics and Pocket Pets? We do not turn many animals away at HVC and occasionally see snakes, lizards, rabbits, and much more.  

Our hospital boasts six exam rooms, with one of our feline-specific rooms having a window seat and pheromone diffusers. For any of our patients crossing the rainbow bridge, we have a Sympathy Room and also offer outdoor euthanasias where owners and their furry family members can spend time in the beautiful Florida weather.  

We have a dedicated surgical suite directly off our treatment area. Equipment such as electrocautery, suction, and a Cryopen are available. We also offer multimodal pain management, including local anesthetics, oral medications, Laser therapy, and Assisi Loops. Two dental sinks are located in our treatment area and an ultrasonic cleaner with a dental drill make dentals quick and easy.  

HVC has an in-house laboratory. The laboratory includes Abaxis machinery making comprehensive bloodwork available at your fingertips. Antech provides our off-site laboratory services.  In addition to the laboratory, we offer digital radiographs and ultrasound.  

Hate filling out a controlled substance log? Our state-of-the-art Cubex Tower does that work for you while acting as a double verification to minimize errors. In addition, we have a full in-house pharmacy, VetSource on-line pharmacy, and relationships with three compounding pharmacies for our extra needs. 

Our technicians have years of experience. They have been trained in collecting and processing samples, using checklists to ensure each and every patient is treated completely and equally, with the utmost quality, and in the most efficient manner possible. Our team makes a busy schedule plus drop off appointments a breeze, perfect for the associate who wants to be productive all the time. 

Our benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision, Aflac, pet care discounts, CE allowance, AVMA, DVMA, VFVMS, VIN and DEA dues and fees, and worker’s compensation insurance, as well as paid vacation/personal time. We offer salaried employment, with the potential to move to a production-based salary.  

If you are looking to practice part-time, we'd like to talk to you too. There is potential for part-time status to grow into full-time, if desired, but a permanent part-time schedule can be acommodated.
