About MIlwaukee Emergency Cneter for Animals

Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and is located in Greenfield, Wisconsin. Walk-In emergencies, critical care referrals and surgery referrals are accepted 24 hours a day. MECA's owner is Marla Lichtenberger, DVM, DACVECC. Dr. Lichtenberger's Emergency Center is a welcome addition to the southern part of Milwaukee, which was in need of a state-of-the-art facility. Twenty-four hour emergency service is provided by a team of experienced veterinarians and staff, concentrating on dogs, cats, exotics, reptiles and other small mammals.

Job Description
Emergency/Critical Care Veterinarian needed for a new state-of-the-art, fully equipped 10,000 sq. ft emergency/ critical care and specialty hospital located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are seeking experienced emergency clinicians, although internship-trained or residency-trained ACVECC candidates will also be considered. We have an excellent, seasoned technical and administrative support staff which work together, and are committed to providing compassionate health care of the highest quality and service to our patients, pet owners, and referring veterinarians. We are able to provide the best in patient care 24 hours a day with our seamless continuity of coverage. Daily “walk-through” rounds provide an opportunity for continuous learning. We have digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscope, complete in-house lab; blood pressure, cardiac and respiratory monitors; pulse oximeter, tonopen, anesthesia machines and a computerized medical records system. The hospital places a premium on continuing education and is willing to train critical care and exotic emergency care to enthusiastic veterinarians. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enjoy professional growth, and wants to be challenged by complex cases in a stimulating environment.
