Job Description
Veterinary Cancer Care P.C. in Santa Fe, New Mexico is currently looking for a head oncology technician. Our cancer facility is dedicated to treating cancer patients and their owners with compassion; always keeping quality of life as our main priority. The function of the head technician is to manage the veterinary technical staff, support the veterinarian, be the communication liaison between technical staff and veterinarian, and to ensure that a high standard of patient care is achieved. Coordination and leadership skills are essential to achieving this goal. Management duties would occupy 1/4 of time spent at work with the remainder being spent on technician duties. We are looking for a head technician that is also a good teacher and would help us increase the knowledge and skill of our fantastic staff.

Requirements
The candidate must thrive in a high paced and challenging work environment. Previous experience working as an oncology technician is required. A technician holding either an RVT or CVT and one who has previously served in a leadership role is preferred. All applicants must have excellent technician skills including: venipuncture, catheter placement, x-rays technique and anesthesia.
